The Water Supply and Sewage Company

The Water Supply and Sewage Company (PWiK Sp. z o.o.) takes pride in its long tradition. The early days of the Company go back to 1967. Due to the increasing demand for water, which was related with the construction of coal mines, it became necessary to construct a developed system of water supply so that the whole administrative district of Rybnik could be supplied with water. In the beginning, the Water Supply Company in Rybnik used to function as a municipal Company, and finally, since 2000, it has been functioning as a Company created according to Polish commercial law. The Company’s business activity is water and sewage management for the Communes of Rybnik, Gaszowice and Jejkowice.  The length of the water network operated in the area of Rybnik and others is 1142,9 km. In total, the length of the sewage system operated in the area of Rybnik, together with residential connections, is: 855,6  km.  The subject of Company business activity is: water collection, purification and supply, sewage collection and treatment, work related to the construction of transmission pipelines and distribution networks, others. PWiK Sp. z o.o. implemented the Integrated Management System, which is based on the following standards: PN-EN ISO 9001:2009, PN-EN ISO14001:2005, and PN-N-18001:2004. The policy of the Integrated Management System includes the range of activities focusing on customer and employee satisfaction, as well as protection of the natural environment. Water Supply and Sewage Company in Rybnik is one of the leading companies in the water industry. •           “Increasing the reductions in the quantity of bio-genes by means of the optimization of biological sewage purification in the sewage purification plant Rybnik-Orzepowice”, financial subsidizing out of the means of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
