Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji
Municipal Water and Sewage Company in Wroclaw is a company with a tradition of over 140 years. The process of water treatment takes place in two water production plants: ‘Mokry Dwor’ and ‘Na Grobli’. Sewage, however, is directed to Wastewater Treatment Plant ‘Janowek’ with its cutting edge technological solutions.
In order to supply residents with high quality water, while at the same time being mindful of economy and environment, the company is looking for new solutions in the area of water and wastewater treatment. Maintaining and gradually replacing almost 2,000 km of water network as well as 1.500 km of sewage network poses another challenge.
The company has implemented Integrated Management System based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 norms, while the process of continuous improvement is based on an EFQM model. Board decisions are made with the support of Science Committee which includes leading faculty members of Wroclaw’s institutions of higher learning and Program Council comprising of Wroclaw’s deputy presidents as well as heads of key City departments.
Research and Development facility is staffed by highly qualified personnel from the Center for New Technologies. Two unique research stations constitute additional valuable assets.
