Maria Curie-Sklodowska University

Maria Curie-Sklodowska University is a institution of higher education established in Lublin, Poland in 1944. As the largest university in Eastern Poland Maria Curie-Skłodowska University conducts research and development activities within its 12 faculties and actively participates in various international programmes such as 7th Framework Programme, H2020, Lifelong Learning Programme/Erasmus +, US Embassy Grant programmes, Polish-Swiss Research Programme, Polish-Norwegian Research Programme, Eurostars initiative to mention just a few. Since 2004 over 140 international research projects were successfully implemented at the institution with a strong view to strenghtening the university’s research and development capacity.

The University is constantly expanding its international and national research activities by obtaining EU funds and improving its infrastructure base in order to provide first-class facilities and research equipment for MSCU researchers. Nearly 36 million € was acquired to create an innovative analytical center: ECOTECH COMPLEX which consolidates research and manufacturing potential of the region in the respect of environmental management, improvement of quality of life and competitiveness of the R & D sector.                               

Alongside, the University engages in a number of European s+tructural funds i.e. Regional Development Fund, The Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland, and Innovative Economy Programme.

MSCU has received nearly 500 million PLN  in grants and grants for research and development in the last 3 years. The University has 84 patents and patent applications and is a leader in the number of patents granted for biotechnological inventions.

MCSU has an exceptional research potential of its research teams with numerous scientific achievements, nominations, publications and international conferences as well as numerous awards at the prestigious invention and creativity fairs.

The University is an important organization acting in the process of local and regional development. Its expertise and facilities are extensively used in numerous local and nationwide development projects.

The unit dedicated to the socio-economic environment at MCSU is the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer, which does commercialization processes of scientific research results, patents and copyrights. The Center also coordinates the implementation of commissioned research, research and development projects for the energy, IT, medical, biotechnology, food, construction, fuel and other industries.
